Discover the delights of Jordan's Red Sea resort
Diving sites in Aqaba are located very close to the shore line so both boat and shore diving access the same sites, it is just a matter of which mode of transport is preferred. The diving along this coast line is very good relative to other diving in the Northern Red Sea. It is an excellent choice for both beginners and the more experienced diver.
There is some especially exciting diving close to the Saudi border where you will find deep walls only very recently discovered! There is also one of the best wreck dives in the Red Sea here, the 'Cedar Pride' - this is an astonishing dive!!
Power Station
Here the reef drops from the surface to 5mtrs then slopes to 12mtrs before dropping vertically to 200mtrs in a sheer wall. Swimming along the edge of the wall offers spectacular views and large pelagic species make this their hunting ground. Soft corals abound as nutrient rich waters gently flow along the wall. This dive requires good buoyancy control and offers some spectacular coral outcrops with huge numbers of fish. The dive can be completed in shallow water between 12 and 5 meters, where an abundance of varied hard corals each with its attendant species, keep divers entertained.
A gentle slope of solid corals to 15m where there is the start of a magnificent wall dropping to the deep. With good buoyancy control, swimming along the edge is a rewarding experience where large soft coral fans and large pelagic fish abound.

First Bay
Next to the Marine Reserve. A coral garden of pinnacles and tables with a wide variety of fish. A fascinating dive with lots to see at less than 18m.
About 700m long reef situated just south of the Marine Science Station, entrance point south of the reef between Coastal Radio Station and Ras Al-Yamaneah. Shallow fringing reef of the fire corals and small garden about 8m Reef slopes down from 15m and is the best to stay there.

South of the First Bay, between Ras Al-Yamania and the camping site. Entry point 150m north of camping fence. Reef extends about 500m out from the shore in front and just north of the camping.

Rating: Ideal for snorkeling, diving is good between the camping site and the Rainbow reef. Fish Life: Emperor, snapper, Lyre tail, small trigger fish, Wrasse, Parrotfish, Lionfish and scorpion fish, box fish, many butterfly fish and regularly visited by turtles.Rainbow

A Lebanese freighter scuttled in 1983 which now hosts a wide variety of hard and soft corals. She is intact and lies across two reefs on her port side. Divers can swim under her at 27m. She can take several dives to fully appreciate and is an excellent night dive. It is also the site for beautiful sea horses.
The wreck of Lebanese freighter (760 tons, length 81m and 20m wide) was purposely sunk in 1986. The wreck is marked by a surface marker buoy less than 150m offshore. She lies on her port site, bridging two reefs, so you can swim underneath her at about 25m. Near the stern is a life boat in 20.5m of depth. The Ship is in good condition, tank area can be swum inside.

Located just to the south of the shipwreck. Very good condition for snorkeling. The reef begins in shallow water with some fire corals and then gently sloping to the magnificent colorful reef.

Named after the huge Gorgonian fan coral at 16m. After a zigzag entrance thru’ fringing reef you are confront with a huge Cabbage coral, the size of a house. There are 3 pinnacles each supporting a huge variety of life, including an Arabian Angel and Yellow Mouth Moray. Max depth 17m, a good easy, shallow dive.

Home of Frog fish, Crocodile fish and giant Scorpion fishes. The reef start at 12m and drops to 30m plus large squid are founding feeding in shoals around the shallow corals and octopus abounds of the fringing reef. Young turtles are often seen finding their ground around the reef.
